Discover below the skin-soothing benefits that herbal infusions add to my body care products!
I personally make my own herbal-infusions through a warm-process crockpot method where just enough heat is generated to warm a carrier oil in order to draw out the healing properties of each herb. The oil and herbs remain gently heated for 6-8 hours (which is longer than most crafters will spend infusing their oils) and is under constant supervision. The amount of hours I dedicate for each herbal infusion allows the oil to most effectively absorb the highest possible amount of healing properties from each herb.
After I have properly strained the oil, it is almost magical to watch how the oil has drawn out the deeper color and scent from the herbs which had been infusing all those hours! The oil is more dense, it is colored with the richness of the herbs and now carries more potent healing properties. Herbal infusions are extremely helpful when used in skin care products as they can help treat and potentially heal skin issues.
* CAUTION: As with any plant or herb, the potential for an allergic reaction is possible in some people. If pregnant or nursing, please consult your physician before using any products made with herbal infusions.
